Did you know that today is the international Jazz day?
Today the 30th of April, people around the world celebrate the beauty, freedom, company for sorrow or groove for moving that jazz music can offer to its listeners and performers. April 30 was declared in November 2011 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) with the purpose to celebrate and highlight the importance of jazz music also within its diplomatic power to unite people from any corner of the world and any culture. Each year, on this date, jazz as an international art form is acknowledged for promoting diversity, intercultural dialogue, freedom of expression, peace and respect for human rights and dignity. Many cities around the world have today conferences, workshops, masterclassess and concerts to celebrate this international art form, moreover this year Istanbul, Turkey has been named the 2013 Global Host City for International Jazz Day and if curious you can follow performances live here: http://live.jazzday.com/
Are there any events of such kind in your cities?

This month:
I am from Satu Mare, Romania country. I know that last year and this one too there have been some jazz concerts downtown, at different pubs and bars. As a small town, people are that keen on jazz, they don.t fancy jazz or they just do not pay too much attention to celebrations like the jazz music, but a few part of the citizens are open to such cultural days. Personally, i cannot declare myself a dedicated fan of jazz sounds, but it is a different acoustic and emotional experience when listening to this music. I like like songs and instruments that perform for this style i would be delighted to attend such musical performances in any part of the world.
