Once the aneurysm is repaired, it may be necessary to ensure the prevention of a stroke which can occur due to spasm of the blood vessels. This may include the administration of intravenous fluids, certain medications and even allowing the blood pressure to be higher. The results vary depending on the patient. In general, patients in a deep coma after an aneurysm rupture are not as likely to survive as those with less severe symptoms. Ruptured cerebral aneurysms are usually fatal.About 25 of patients die on the first day and 25 die within the first 3 months. Of those who survive more than half will have some sort of permanent disability. Complications that can occur after such an aneurysm are subarachnoid hemorrhage, stroke, seizures, epilepsy, paralysis of any part of the body, vision problems, loss of speech abilities, cognitive decline. In case of sudden severe headaches, especially if accompanied by nausea, vomiting, seizures or other neurological symptoms go immediately to the emergency room or call the emergency number 112. There is no known way to prevent the formation of an aneurysm. If it is discovered in time, an aneurysm that had not broken can be treated before causing any problems. The decision to repair an aneurysm which had not ruptured is based on the size and location of the aneurysm and also the age and general health of the patient. These factors should be carefully considered, given the risks during surgery and during the prevention treatment.
