Oleptro (Trazodone Hydrochloride)

Administration
Oleptro (trazodone hydrochloride) is given orally by tablets. The dosage depends on the patient’s condition. The tablets can be taken whole or split in two. They have a line in the middle. That is where you should break them in half if you have swallowing difficulties or your organism requires a lower dose. Do not divide them in more parts and do not chew or suck them. Have them with a full glass of water.

Take Oleptro (trazodone hydrochloride) right before heading to sleep, on an empty stomach. Make sure your dinner is at least 3 or 4 hours before hitting the bed. Since this is a scheduled treatment, the medication must be taken at the same time everyday.

Contraindications
Oleptro (trazodone hydrochloride) must not be combined with alcohol. Do not have any alcoholic beverages while on this treatment. The alcohol increases the intensity of the side effects and may react negatively with the medication, resulting in an ineffective treatment. You might wake up dizzy in the morning, so be careful if you are supposed to drive.

Side effects
The initial side effects of Oleptro (trazodone hydrochloride) are dizziness and sleepiness, which fit pretty well with the fact that the drug must be taken before going to sleep. You can also experience blurry vision or constipation.
