What dog breed is good for guarding and play friendly with kids?
Effy Pets 724 2
My children want me to buy them a dog so they can play with it every day in our yard.
If making this step, i am thinking to purchase a breed that is also a great guard dog so it will make us feel safe.
What breeds can you recommend me?

I think that a breed good for both is the golden retriever, it is a very sociable and friendly dog, it lacks a little on the guarding of the house side, but it will bark and it will protect the "members of the herd" - all of you. When I grew up I had a German shepherd and I can tell you from experience that it is a wonderful breed, that dog protected the house and nobody dared enter the yard without one of us being there and I, even as a child, was always able to play with him, we ran, we jumped and not once has he hurt me in any way. Most dogs are careful with children just like with their own cubs.

I emphasize the same idea, a golden retriever or a labrador retriever breed could be the best choices as a faithful and playful friend for your children. These two breeds are very close to humans, are very intelligent and love their master more than themselves, this is true. On average, when children grow up having a dog in their home it is said they become responsible from an early age, they know what unconditional love is from other points of view not only from their parents and they learn how to share things with other people.
