Acute gastritis often appears after the excessive consumption of alcohol, or after the administration of medicines such as ibuprofen or aspirin-based, and after highly seasoned meals that are high in fat, or spicy foods. Acute gastritis can be caused by some bacteria like Helicobacter pylori. Acute gastritis is manifested for a relatively short period of time.Chronic gastritis is a condition which is often related to the patients age. Most people with the age over 40 years old suffer from this condition. The symptoms of chronic gastritis are lasting a bit longer, and if it isnt treated, it can cause serious damage, like duodenal ulcer. As well as the acute gastritis, in case of chronic gastritis the Helicobacter pylori can be the factor that starts it.
