If you are in the process of designing and building a website more than likely the first decision you will have to make it whether you wanted it to be a traditional site or a blog. For the past few years and into the foreseeable future the software of choice for most standard websites is Dreamweaver.
Years ago when the internet was first getting started the most well-liked software to build a website with was Microsoft’s PageMaker. But, for whatever reason they did not put money into the product and continue to develop it, and later started supporting it completely.
This left this extremely large niche wide open and Adobe the creator of one of the most admired pieces of software ever, Photoshop was only too happy to move in an create an outstanding product for it.
If you have never used Dreamweaver or any website building software previously there certainly will be a learning curve before you are able to use it even at a very basic level. That is the bad news, the good news is that the more you utilize it the better and faster you will become with it.
However, unless you are a website designer or have taken classes in this field, it will be very difficult for your site to ever look like some of the professional sites you have viewed in the past. That does not mean that Dreamweaver cannot produce excellent sites, it just mean that it takes a very long time to learn all of its features that will allow you to do this.
There are many beautiful premade Dreamweaver templates that you can acquire to speed up the design process. Some of them are free, whereas others sell for only a few dollars. This is an excellent piece of software and if you plan on having any websites at all you can be absolutely certain that you will be using it sometime in the future.
