Miniature Bull Terrier, Small And Fearless

The Miniature Bull Terrier has its origins from the Dalmatian, Bulldog and the English White Terrier and the existence of this breed dated back to the 19th century in a document called The Dogs of British Island. In early times the difference of the breed was made by checking their weight, yet this was wrong as they were so small that they resembled more a Chihuahua than the actual breed. In 1970 difference was made by height and the limit was under 14 inches but not smaller than 10 inches. The ideal specimen has the body weight proportional to the height or so says the American Kennel Club.

These dogs are quite strong and are well built being very muscular. Its coat is fine and short just like that of a Bull Terrier, and they are accepted in the colors of white, fully colored or white and any other except liver and blue. And because the coat is short, very little grooming is needed. The Miniature Bull Terrier has an egg shaped head which has a flat top and has triangular eyes which are set very close. The ears are strait and must not be cropped and the tail is carried straight.

This breed can be stubborn and they also are excellent pets for those who live in small spaces. The Miniature Bull Terrier is also courageous as they do not recognize their size. This means that even when confronting a much bigger opponent they will not back up. They are an energetic breed and they are love people and are playful but don’t seem to get along with other pets. This dog is also unstable around children and other dogs as well. A quick grooming a day will suffice and sunscreen must be applied on the areas with no hair when they are taken outdoors in the summer time to avoid cancer and sunburn. These dogs don’t have much health problems except for a few dogs that that can develop deafness. If dogs are deaf they must not be breed as it is hereditary. Knee problems are common in all small dogs but they are treatable by surgery.
